Inside the Hut

Wood Burning Stove: At the heart of the Hut is the ‘hobbit stove’. Radiating warmth and creating a snug atmosphere.

Seating: A small table and chairs to enjoy breakfast, a good book or just simply enjoy the view looking out over the pond.

Double bed: The hut features a comfortable double bed with soft linens and pillows for a blissful; nights sleep.

Kitchen: The hut kitchen is compact but provides a hob, sink, kettle, fridge and all of the crockery and utensils you need for preparing simple meals.

En-Suite: The shepherd’s hut boasts an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. Towels and robes are also provided.

Outside the Hut

Wood Fired Hot Tub: Relax under the stars in your exclusive hot tub. Perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Fire Pit: Enjoy open fire cooking, or cosy up with a blanket and enjoy the crackling sounds of the fire. *We provide outdoor cooking pans and utensils.

Fishing: Exclusively for Shepherd’s hut guests, enjoy the stillness of your surroundings with an added feeling of excitement as you catch a fish or two during your stay.

Hammock: Swing gently between the trees listening to the sounds of the countryside.

Things to Do in the Local Area

Local Walk

Enjoy a walk in the local countryside. Set off straight from the Hut and head out on our nature walk. The path links up with a public footpath where you can carry on to the charming village of Roos. Enjoy a treat from Melbourne Butchers or savour a pint of local beer at the Roos Arms. There are also plenty of other walks a short drive from the Shepherd’s Hut in the Holderness Countryside. Look out for wildlife, including birds and deer.

Visit Hull

A day out together exploring the cultural charm and romantic spots of Hull is a wonderful choice during your stay at Little Otchan Shepherd’s Hut. Stroll along Hull Marina, lined with boats and snap some romantic photos before enjoying a delicious lunch down the iconic Humber Street. Visit the various shops selling locally made goods and vintage wares. Visit Hull Minster after lunch to marvel at the medieval architecture and grab a sweet treat from Trinity Market before heading back to Little Otchan for the night.

Great Newsome Brewery

No Trip to Little Otchan would be complete without a visit to our very own brewery shop. Great Newsome Brewery is our sister business and has been brewing great tasting beer for over 15 years. Visit us in our shop to see the variety on offer and take away some samples with you to enjoy by the fire at the Hut.

Cycling

Little Otchan Glamping is located in a great spot for cycling. We are in a flat area so you can expect to cover a lot of miles taking in the enchanting East Yorkshire countryside. Ride through charming villages and enjoy the coastal scenery. Your cycle ride will cover a mix of quiet country lanes, scenic spots and of course places to stop for refreshments!

A Beach Visit

Drive to the nearby Yorkshire Coast and enjoy the local seaside towns such as Withernsea or Hornsea. Walk along the prom and enjoy some fish and chips. Climb the steps of Withernsea Lighthouse and visit the museum for a bit of local history.

Further afield is Spurn Point Nature Reserve. Why not book a Spurn Safari and find out about this fascinating stretch of coastline. Rugged and wild, Spurn Point is completely unspoilt, an iconic and constantly moving peninsula which curves between the North Sea and the Humber Estuary. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust has a café and discovery centre which are well worth a visit. After all of that fresh air there is also the Crown and Anchor Pub at Kilnsea for a traditional pub lunch. Snag the window seat and enjoy views over the Humber.
